Blackbox, aka The BlackBox Warrior, is the third and final iteration of Dr. David.
He represents his "inner child" of sorts, so you would expect him to be a younger version of Dr. David, but for some reason he has his own personality. He is the traumaholder of the system, which means he carries the pain and memories of the traumatic events that caused the system and made Dr. David become this way.
For awhile, he was trapped in "The Black Box", a structure within the system's mind that symbolizes their trauma. This is why it took so long to discover him: he couldn't front or make contact with the others. But eventually they found and rescued him :)
he has had quite a troubled life, because when an individual is inside The Black Box, they suffer constant traumatic flashbacks, and are essentially stuck in the moments their trauma happened, over and over and over. Now that he is out he enjoys catching up on the childhood he previously missed out on, and has found a loving "family" in the other two members of his system. However, there is the occasional trouble in paradise, as no one can avoid their trauma forever, occasionally he finds himself "trapped" in fear once again. He has to be very brave. Luckily someone usually comes to rescue him, or he rescues himself, or the situation just... ends.
"Original" Dr. David LOVES him, in fact Blackbox is about the only person he will be nice to. Blackbox loves him back, and despite "Other" Dr. David being the seemingly optimal parental figure, it is an undeniable fact that attempting to seperate "Original" Dr. David from Blackbox would result in the former bringing down upon you much wrath and ruin.
One time he asked my dad if he could have ice cream for dinner and my dad said yes so he grabbed my dad’s hand and high fived him
Neck: I originally gave him no neck like the others, however I realized that my own neck is very symbolic to me. (Without going in to too much detail,) Throughout the course of my life I have had several traumatic/significant incidents reguarding my neck or throat. So now the prescense of a neck on Blackbox's body represents vulnerability, as well as a connection to his (my) trauma. It could also be seen as representing innocence, seeing as the more cynic ones seem to have less and the more optimistic ones seem to have more.
Shirt: His iconic shirt is based on a real shirt I own that I made for a school project. It has the lyrics to "BlackBoxWarrior - OKULTRA", the song that inspired the trio, written on the front and back.
Face: He only shows one facial feature at a time, although he CAN show all of them he usually doesn't. He typically just shows his eyes. I don't exactly know why I made this descision, but it may have something to do with the shadowguys from deltarune, as well as the design of another person's OC themed around the same song that I liked.
Speech: When I feel afraid, I freeze and can't speak. When Blackbox is feeling safe and loved in his entirety, he can speak in limited amounts, with a hushed voice. Most of the time he simply speaks in emotes, and when afraid he can't communicate at all.
Coloration: He isn't made of plastic like the others, just a vague shadowy material. It represents dissociation/derealization/depersonalization that is present in both many disordered systems and in me when I am afraid.
